Open Positions
Fall, 2023
The group currently has two Ph.D. positions and one Postdoctoral position available, starting in Fall 2024. Undergraduate or MS students with a background in electrical engineering, physics, and materials science are welcome to contact Prof. Li for further information.
The group also welcomes volunteer graduate and undergraduate students with a passion for exploring next-generation nanomaterials and nanoelectronics.

Prof. Li organized and chaired 2023 the 3rd UB-IEEE Nano-Symposium held at 101 Davis Hall, Five invited talks were given by scientists from Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, and Albany.

A U.S. Provisional Patent Application on "High-performance anode materials for lithium-ion batteries using MoS2/MXene/CNT", led by Prof. Yao and Prof. Li, was highlighted on UB Innovation.

Prof. Li organized the first "UB-IEEE Nano-Symposium" and the event was very successful! The symposium was sponsored by the UB EE Department, IEEE Young Professionals, and IEEE Buffalo Section. There were 16 excellent talks from the EE graduate students and the topic covered from nanoelectronic materials to devices and circuits. Prof. Li gave the opening and closing remarks at the event. Our NSF ECCS EPMD award entitled "Vertical-carrier-transport two-dimensional photo-harvesting devices with nanocavity enhancement" kicks off. This EAGER program will perform a combined fundamental and experimental investigation to validate this scientific hypothesis, which will pave the way towards the development of practically high-efficiency two-dimensional photo-harvesting devices.
